Why voices still get through
Active noise cancellation is generally strongest against steady low-frequency sound such as aircraft, rail and ventilation rumble. Voices and sudden sounds are less predictable. The earcup or ear-tip seal still does much of the work at higher frequencies.
Glasses can create a small leak; clamp pressure, pad softness and frame thickness decide how much it matters. A two-minute try-on cannot predict an eight-hour day.
Listening ANC and call quality are separate tests
