Use electronics safely
Manufacturer instructions and official recall notices control. Stop using a product that appears unsafe and report the issue promptly.
Move away from the product, call 911 or the appropriate emergency service, and follow fire-department guidance. Do not handle a hot, swollen, smoking or burning lithium battery.
1. Follow product instructions
Read and retain the manufacturer’s manual, warnings and labels. Use the rated voltage, approved charger, ventilation, mounting hardware and environmental limits. Product descriptions and buying guides do not replace safety instructions, electrical code, building code or professional installation.
2. Batteries, chargers and power products
Use compatible, undamaged batteries and chargers. Do not crush, puncture, short, expose to extreme heat, charge unattended contrary to instructions, or ship a damaged lithium battery through ordinary mail. Stop use if a battery swells, leaks, overheats or has been recalled. Surge protectors and power supplies have ratings that must not be exceeded.
3. Children, small parts and household use
Keep button cells, batteries, cords, plastic bags, chemicals and small components away from children and pets. Products not specifically designed and certified as toys should not be treated as toys. Secure tall or mounted equipment against tip-over and use hearing-safe volume levels.
4. Recalls and corrective actions
Jar Hearts does not knowingly offer products subject to an active prohibition on sale. If we learn that a purchased product is recalled, we may use order contact information to send the official instructions. Recall remedies can include stop-use directions, repair, replacement, refund or disposal and are set by the responsible firm and regulator. Do not resell or donate a recalled product.
5. Report a product-safety concern
Email info@jarhearts.com with the order number, product and model, serial number if relevant, description of the event, date, injuries or property damage, and photographs if safe to take. Preserve the product and packaging unless emergency or recall instructions require otherwise. Reporting to us does not prevent you from contacting the manufacturer, CPSC, emergency services, an insurer or legal counsel.
6. Disposal and data-bearing devices
Do not place lithium batteries or regulated electronic waste in ordinary trash where prohibited. Use a qualified battery or electronics recycling program. Before recycling or returning a data-bearing device, back up necessary files, sign out, remove cards and securely erase personal information when safe and possible.
